Doris Jean Lee Bailey

Doris Jean Lee Bailey, 75, of Cumming died Saturday.

A native of Dawson County, she had retired after 30 years of service with AT&T. She was a lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Colonel and Una Lee.

Survivors include her children, Lee Simpson Bailey, Jacksonville, Fla., and Nancy Lee Bailey Jones and Roger Wayne Bailey, both of Cumming; brothers, Charles Lee, Roswell, and Harold Lee and Horace Lee, both of Cumming; sister, Jessie Payne, Cumming, and Frances Caryle, North Carolina; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. The Rev. Billy Raburn will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

Robert C. Barrier, 66, of Buford died Friday.

Peggy Joyce Yearwood Evans

May 17, 1936-April 29, 2005

Peggy Joyce Yearwood Evans, 68, of Bogart died Friday following an extended illness.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late John Lester and Hattie Lee Marchman Yearwood. She was self employed and a former owner of a laundry business.

Survivors include her husband, Lonzo Evans, Bogart; daughters, Anita Kelly, Jefferson, Deborah Buffington, Hollywood, Fla., and Brenda Cobb, Watkinsville; stepdaughters, Barbara Ann Shappe, Utah, and Sharon Wilkins, Jefferson; sons, Douglas Howard, Lexington, Robert Kenneth Howard, Athens, and Dwayne Evans, Comer; stepsons, Ronnie Evans, Jefferson, and Wallace Evans, Athens; sister, Louise Hayes, Arnoldsville; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. The Rev. Luther Foushe will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens.

Tarren Jean Horne

Died April 29, 2005

Tarren Jean Horne, 9, of Buford died Friday.

She attended Friendship Elementary School, was a cheerleader and a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was in the Children's Bible Drills Ministry and the Interpretive Dance Ministry.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Max McGinnis.

Survivors include her mother, Robin Horne; sister, Blakeleigh Boudreaux; and grandparents, Barbara and Bill Brittle.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005, at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Pastor Scott Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Eula Bell Lingerfelt

Died April 29, 2005

Eula Bell Lingerfelt, 88, of Dahlonega died Friday at her daughter's residence following an extended illness.

A lifelong native of Lumpkin County, she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Lingerfelt, Jackie Lingerfelt and Stanley Lingerfelt, all of Lumpkin County; daughter, Adene Eaton-Lawson, Gainesville; brothers, Ray Sosebee and Talmadge Sosebee, both of Lumpkin County; sister, Odell Barrett, Conyers; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Lumpkin County. The Rev. Junior Evans and Tommy Ross will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Died April 28, 2005

Lowell R. Patrick, 82, of Gainesville died Thursday.

A native of Ohio, he was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Patrick; and stepdaughter, Carol Shillen.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Patrick; son, Mark Patrick, Trappe, Md.; daughters, Melody Patrick and Marita Patrick, both of Baltimore; stepson, Thomas D. Foster, Binghamton, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2005, at Mason-Ward-Rogers Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph O. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Alta Vista Cemetery.

Gwen Scott

Died April 29, 2005

Gwen Scott, 64, of Cleveland died Friday at a private nursing home following an extended illness.

A native of Atlanta, she had lived in White County since 1998. She was employed with Clayton County Clerks Office and also worked as a legal secretary and was a licensed real estate agent. She was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her son, Rick Patrick, Cleveland; daughter, Karen Vaughn, Atlanta; brother, Donald Strickland; sisters, Mary Benton and Jackie Moore; and two granddaughters.

Memorial services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2005, at Alexander's Gateway Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Garvis Kinsey will officiate.
