James Roy Grindle

Died March 31, 2006

James Roy Grindle, 60, of Ellijay died Friday at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born in Hall County. He was the son of the late Charlie Grindle and Birty Mae Boggus Grindle. He was a member of the Dewberry Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife, Kristina L. Grindle, Ellijay; daughters, Kristina Arlene Grindle, Ellijay, Janice Grindle, Edith Grindle and Sharon Grindle; sons, James Michael Grindle, Johnathan Charles Grindle, Roy Lee Grindle, all of Ellijay, and Jason Grindle; brother, Gordon Grindle, Acworth; sister, Alice Marie Chastain, Toccoa; and several grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 3, 2006, at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery.

Weldon C. Jordan

Died March 31, 2006

Weldon C. Jordan, 78, of Homer, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Stephens County Hospital.

He was the son of the late Luther and Lille Belle White Jordan. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army, a deacon of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church and a Gideon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis Bishop Jordan, and a sister, Evelyn Forrester.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Jordan, Homer; sons, Randall Jordan, Gainesville, and Swayne Jordan, Homer; daughter, Vickie Cotton, Lula; sisters, Mattie Jean Ayers, Commerce, and Jo Ann Jordan, Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Ivie Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2006, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. The Rev. James Duncan and the Rev. Phil Parks will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Flowers are optional and those desiring may make memorials to the Gideons.

Died April 1, 2006

Averee Berryman Langford, 95, of Winder died Saturday.

Billy Sadler

Died March 30, 2006

Billy Sadler, 53, of Buford died Thursday.

He was a graduate of Buford High School. He worked for the Okabaski Co. and was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Clay Sadler; son, William Lee Sadler Jr.; and daughter, Christi Nicole Sadler.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie Ruth Sadler, Buford; daughters, Celeste Irvin, Dacula, and Tracy Jackson and Trina Jackson, both of Buford; sons, Christopher Sadler, Phillip Todd Sadler and Josh Penland, all of Buford; mother, Kittye Mae Sadler of Buford; sisters, Iris Loretta Sadler and Carol Diane Sadler, Buford; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Union Baptist Church in Buford. The Rev. Gregory Marshall and the Rev. Kary Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford.

Annette Masters Wallis

Died April 1, 2006

Annette Masters Wallis, 66, of Bethlehem died Saturday.

A native of Gwinnett County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Alice Adams Masters. She was a graduate of Dacula High School. She retired from Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner's Office and was a member of Cross Keys Baptist Church in Macon. She also is preceded in death by her son, Phillip Wallis.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Wallis, Bethlehem; sons, Michael Wallis, Macon, and Scott Wallis, Blue Ridge; brother, Jerry Masters, Buford; sister, Nell Turk, Dacula; and three grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2006, in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. The Rev. Nain Brady and the Rev. Mac Palmer will officiate. Burial will be at Gwinnett Memorial Park.
