Frances Middlebrooks Allen

April 26, 1937-April 14, 2007

Frances Middlebrooks Allen, 69, of Hoschton died Saturday following an extended illness.

She was born in DeKalb County to the late Bob and Montine Ramey Middlebrooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel Full Gospel Church in Winder. She also was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Ramey.

Survivors include her husband, Roy L. Allen, Hoschton; daughter, Tonya Lowry, Jefferson; son, Eddie Johnson, Jefferson; sisters, Juanita Barrett, Hoschton, and Helen Capps, Bethlehem; and three grandchildren.

The family received friends Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Evans Funeral Home. The Rev. Kevin Page will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in North Atlanta Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 2200 Lake Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30319.

Roger Allen Bahre, 65, of Sautee-Nacoochee died Friday.

Mary Helen "Sandy" Hartman Cathey

Jan. 4, 1919-April 11, 2007

Mary Helen "Sandy" Hartman Cathey, 88, of Dahlonega died Wednesday at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born in Key West, Fla., and was the daughter of the late Andrew Martin Hartman and Mary Ann McTeer Hartman. She was a retired microbiologist with the Center for Disease Control. She was of the Methodist faith. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Cathey.

Survivors include her sons, Scott Cathey, Dahlonega, and Cary Cathey, Atlanta; and daughters, Kitty Carney and Andrea Cathey, both of Dahlonega.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Ebenezer Cemetery in Yemassee, S.C.

There will be no local service or visitation.

Donna LeGail Hicks Weaver, 54, of Cleveland died Friday at her son's residence following an extended illness.

She was the daughter of the late David Lee and Ruby Lee Howard Hicks. She was the owner of Donna's Place Restaurant in Helen for many years. She also was preceded in death by her sister, Denise Hicks; and grandparents. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Payne and Darrick Weaver, both of Cleveland, and Curtis Payne, Cornelia; brothers, David Hicks, Florida, Don Hicks, Acworth, and Darrin Williams, Cornelia; sisters, Debby Murphy, Littleton, Colo., Dena Blackshear, Gainesville, and Diane Batson, Waycross; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2007, at Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Daniell will officiate. Burial will be in Dukes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
