Died June 15, 2007

Jannie Brown of Gainesville died Friday following an extended illness.

Born in Elberton, she lived in Hall County most of her life. She was a supervisor at Mar-Jac Poultry and member of New Life Missionary Church. She is preceded in death by her son, Alexander Brown.

Survivors include her son, Michael Brown, Olympia, Wash.; mother, Estelle Wilmont, Gainesville; sisters, Teresa Payne and Amanda Wilmont, both of Gainesville.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at New Life Missionary Church. The Rev. L.C. Teasley will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Emily Savannah Grace Cain, infant, of Statham died Wednesday.

Survivors include her parents, Glen and Susie Cain, Statham; grandparents, Glen and Annie Nell Cain and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cain.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home. The Rev. Kelby Maxwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Walnut Fork Cemetery.

Evelyn Colbaugh, 77, of Lawrenceville died Thursday.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Yarbrough, Flowery Branch; son, Barry Colbaugh, Lula; sisters, Gloria Davis, Marietta, and Joy Forrister; brothers, Herbert Forrister and Steve Forrister; four grandchildren.

The remains are cremated and there are no services planned.

Girlie Mae Peck Dodd

Died June 15, 2007

Girlie Mae Peck Dodd, 88, of Dahlonega died Friday at Chestatee Regional Hospital following a period of declining health.

Born in Lumpkin County to the late John and Fannie Brown Sullens, she was a homemaker and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She also was preceded in death by her first husband, James Eston Peck; six brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, James Lowell Peck, Dahlonega; daughters, Vergie Miles and JoDean Hendrix, both of Dahlonega; and four grandchildren.

The family received friends from Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007, at Mount Olive Baptist Church. The Rev. Dean Bryant will officiate. Burial will be in church cemetery.

Christine "Chris" Greenway, 85, of Gainesville died Friday at Northeast Georgia Medical Center's Lanier Park campus following an extended illness.

Born in Hall County, she was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007, at Whitehall Baptist Church. The Rev. W.A. Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Private services were held Saturday, June 16, 2007, at his residence.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his brother, Brad Owens, Buford; and one grandmother.

Robert Franklin Shirley, 77, of Louisville died Friday following an extended illness.

Born in Jackson County to the late Robert Butler Shirley and Myrtle Estelle Dowdy Shirley, he was disabled most of his life and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by brother, Donald Shirley.

Survivors include his sister, Mildred Remion, Commerce.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery prior to the service.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007, at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Davidson will officiate.
