Milton Ludwell Berry
Mr. Milton Ludwell Berry, age 90, of Toccoa, formerly of Buford, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Hannah Berry; and brother, Everett Berry.
He is survived by his caregiver, Mrs. Arlene Frasier, Toccoa; sister-in-law, Mrs. Marie Haney Berry, Buford; and several cousins.
Mr. Berry was a native of Buford. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of the Buford American Legion Post No. 127. He was retired from Quality Foods in Buford and Toccoa. He was a member of New Bethany Baptist Church in Buford.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel Shadburn and the Rev. Dale Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at new Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Buford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.

Monte Joe Black
Monte Joe Black, age 55, of Helen passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Black was born in Habersham County and lived in White County all of his life. He was president and CEO of Charles Black Construction Company, a member of the City of Helen Planning Commission and a graduate of Brenau College. Mr. Black played in several bands including the Jester's and the David Aaron Band. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Black.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Black, Helen; stepson, Adam Martin, Alamo, Calif.; parents, Charles and Dot Black, Cleveland; sister, Lynda Lunsford, Cleveland; and brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Margie Black, Cleveland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Bobby Taylor and the Rev. Dennis Turner will officiate. Entombment will be in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Allison Hunter Brownell, 30, of Gainesville. The Rev. Jim Bocian will officiate. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. She died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007.
Ms. Brownell was a lifelong resident of Hall County. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School and was a secretary. She was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Floy Ellen Hamrick Hunter.
Survivors include her daughters, Destiny Brownell and Lori Brownell, both of Gainesville; father and stepmother, Johnny and Brenda Hunter, Ringold; brother, Scott Hunter, Jacksonville, Fla.; grandparents, Verner "Sug" and Ruth Hamrick, Gainesville; aunts, Brenda Matthews, Gainesville, and Patsy Tatum, Salt Lake City, Utah; and a number of cousins and other relatives.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Embry Hills United Methodist Church for Kathrine Williams Bryant, 90, of Gillsville, formerly of Chamblee. The Rev. Mark Sargent will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Embry Hills United Methodist Church, Chamblee. She died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bryant was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and lived a number of years in Chamblee before moving to Gillsville.
She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of Embry Hills United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alicia Lynn Clack.

Ratliff Claude Elrod Jr., age 66, of Latty Road, Lula passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Elrod was born in Hall County to the late Ratliff Claude Elrod Sr. and Roberta (Graham) Elrod.
He was retired from Fesco Inc. as a plant manager. Mr. Elrod was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Blanche Duran; and a brother, Clyde Elrod.
Mr. Elrod is survived by his wife, Linda Vernett (Smith) Elrod, Lula; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Becky Peck, Gainesville, Ricky and Susan Peck, also of Gainesville, Dan and Lisa Elrod, Texas, and Jason and Mandy Elrod, Jefferson; son, David Elrod, Gainesville; and a daughter, Denise Corcoran, Destin, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; sister, Bessie Pittman, Lula; and a brother, Homer Elrod, Gainesville; and a host of other friends and family.

Rebecca Gillespie, age 58, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth.
She was born in Hall County July 31, 1949. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wendi and Craig Nielsen of Buford; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Brian McGuigan of Murrayville.

Jimmie Ree (McNeal) Rundles, age 76, of Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Limestone Heritage Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in the chapel at First Baptist Church on Green Street in Gainesville. Dr. Bill Coates and the Rev. Bruce Fields will officiate. Mrs. Rundles was born in Hall County to the late Norman A. McNeal and Mammie (King) McNeal. She was a graduate of Young Harris College. She was employed as a school teacher in Hall County and retired from the banking business as a clerk. Mrs. Rundles was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gainesville and also a member of the Friendship Sunday school class.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Perry Rundles, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Becky Rundles, Gainesville and Gary and Joan Rundles, Livingston, Ala.; grandchildren, Leslie Wallace, Gainesville, Dana Smith, Greer, S.C., Wil Rundles, Gainesville, Richard Rundles, Jefferson City, Tenn., and Megan Rundles, Livingston, Ala., and Alley Rundles, also of Livingston, Ala.; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, John William McNeal, Buford; and a host of other friends and relatives also survive.

Mike Alan Tolsdorf
Mike Alan Tolsdorf completed this part of his journey on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007. Mike, age 48, is survived by his parents, Bob and Dorothy Tolsdorf of Osage, Iowa; his brother, Tony Tolsdorf of Portland, Ore.; and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his younger sister, Mary Tolsdorf.
Mike was a loyal employee of ZF Industries and a faithful servant at Chicopee United Methodist Church in Gainesville. He was a passionate racing fan and enjoyed piloting small aircraft. Mike was a true example of grace and love to all those who had the honor of knowing him.
Family and friends will honor his life on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Chicopee United Methodist Church, located at 5 First St., Chicopee Village, Gainesville, GA.
